TOURISM WHAKATĀNE

Visiting Whakatāne after the devastating eruption of Whakaari/White Island was an unforgettable experience. There was a real sense of purpose behind this project—to do this incredible region justice and create timeless content that would help bring people back, supporting local businesses and the community.

Our time here was packed with epic experiences, from surf lessons (still can’t believe that’s part of the job!) to exploring the local food scene, shopping, taking a scenic flight over Whakaari, and heading out on a wildlife cruise. Every moment reinforced just how special this place is, and it was an honor to capture it all to help showcase Whakatāne to the rest of New Zealand.
